Purpose of Eye Examinations
- Evaluate the functional status of the eyes and visual system, taking into account special vision demands and needs;
- Assess the eyes health and related systemic health conditions;
- Diagnose and formulate a treatment and management plan; and
- Provide recommendations for treatment, management, and future care.
By thoroughly assessing your eyes we can also identify the presence of other health conditions that may exist without any symptoms, such as diabetes, hypertension, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, which are some of the leading causes of blindness. Early detection of these conditions can prevent irreparable damage to your eyes.
Naturally at Eyecare centers , your eye examination will include us checking for the above as well as other disorders such as cataracts and age related macular degeneration (AMD). In the event that any disorders are discovered as part of your eye examination we will ensure appropriate diagnosis and management which will minimize the damage and consequent disabilities that may otherwise result.
